Senior Project Manager
Susan Di Giulio is a green building project manager at Zinner Consultants. In this capacity she provides strategy, coordination and direct client support for LEED, Living Building and non-certified projects, as well as for CALGreen and various municipal green building programs.
Susan has been a LEED AP since 2006 and a California Registered Architect since 1991. Her credentials include being a Certified Green Building Professional with Build It Green. In her capacity as a Member of the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles Chapter, she has served as a volunteer Program Development Consultant.
Susan came to ZC from a varied career in architecture, where she attained project management experience in mixed use/multi-family housing projects for Los Angeles-area firms such as Carde-Ten Architects, Killefer Flammang Architects, and Togawa and Smith (now Togawa Smith Martin). During the 1990s, as sole proprietor of Di Giulio Design, Susan designed and executed residential, retail, restaurant and small commercial projects. Prior to that, she worked on institutional projects in Boston and Los Angeles, and worked in Italy for two years on a variety of high-end, contemporary retail installations within centuries-old buildings. It is Susan’s Italian experience that led to her special interest in the sustainable reuse of historic structures.
Susan enjoys writing about sustainable development and has published several articles in print and on the web, including coverage of the first GreenBuilding conference in Brazil (GreenBuild Brasil + Rio 2016, Footprint, 2010). She earned a Master’s degree in Architecture from UCLA and a Bachelors degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She speaks fluent Portuguese as well as conversational Italian and Spanish.
